I. FILMFESTIVAL NEWS:
“God”, a film by Edwin Brienen has been nominated for Best Narrative Film at the Great Lakes International Film Festival! II. MATA HARI MEMORIAL: October 15th 4pm – 9pm:
Honor the death of Mata Hari by celebrating my birthday.
I will be reading letters written by Mata Hari and give a lecture on her mysterious life, thrilling adventures and dramatic death. You can finally ask all the questions you want (except my age).
It will be exactly the 100 year anniversary of the death of Mata Hari and almost the anniversary of the birth of Eva.
The lecture will start around 5pm in the downstairs theater of this cool East Village hotspot.
Mark your calendar: October 15th, 4pm – 9pm.

$5 entry donation, 1 drink purchase minimum for guests.

III ALMOST MATA HARI – Lovers, Letters and Killers.
There will be a new run for “Almost Mata Hari – Lovers, Letters and Killers” at the 13th Street Repertory Company in New York, opening November 30th for a month long run. If you have seen the original version, please come again. This play will be newly interpreted by visionary director Joe Battista.
November 30th till December 23rd: 15 performances:
Thurs, Fri and Sat at 8PM and Sun at 3PM.
Guess what will happen during the Mata Hari Memorial?
- She will re-enact the execution of Mata Hari as a performance art piece in the middle of Times Square.
- She will read letters of Mata Hari and give a lecture on her life in a dark basement cellar for a select audience.
- She will perform Mata Hari and burn incense, letters and candles in a cloud of smoke.
- She will light candles and lanterns and set puppets of “politicians” on fire while screaming frantically, accompanied by a blood soaked Jeanne d’Arc on horseback.
- All of the above.
